BOLTON Museum’s famous Egyptology Department is the gift that keeps on giving.
It’s fascinated millions in Taiwan and China with its touring exhibition Quest for Immortality – The Hidden Treasure of Ancient Egypt. Now, doctors in America have been using the latest body scanning equipment to make new discoveries about one of its mummies.
The Department is a wonderful legacy of unlikely early explorers like Bolton mill-owner’s daughter Annie Barlow whose none-too-easy travels resulted in valuable finds for her home town.
The Department – in fact, the whole museum – forms a remarkable resource and a reason for real local pride.
