THE NSPCC is buying into trouble with their suggestion that shop assistants should help parents with unruly children.

No-one likes to be shopping when children start to kick off, and parents are often frustrated by such bad behaviour under these circumstances.

But, whether you're in favour of smacking or not (I am), it's unfair to expect busy store staff to take on parental responsibility.

Trot out all the survey figures it likes to back up this one, but I think the NSPCC has severely misjudged the situation and the reaction of parents to this kind of interference.
