BOLTON MP David Crausby's suggestion for a tax on chewing gum to help finance the huge cost of removing it from public pathways sounds like a good idea.
That, combined with a few well-publicised court appearances and heavy fines for the disgusting people who spit it out on pavements, in Victoria Square and even deface the costly new Churchgate, might just have an effect.
