AS a regular cyclist who has occasionally been ticked off for riding my bicycle on the pavement I was delighted to hear that the London Borough of Camden Council is now going to allow this.
And about time too. Cyclists and cars do not mix and the police at long last have realised this due to the ever increasing death toll of cyclists on our roads. Bolton Council in conjunction with the police have already experimented with this idea with the clearly marked shared pedestrian/cyclist pavement area on the corner of Great Moor Street. Let us hope that Bolton Council will also see sense and develop this further to cover all the thoroughfares in the town centre.
