DO you ever write thank you letters for Christmas and birthday gifts?
And, probably more important, do you get your children to write them?
Most of us apparently don’t, although some of us will text our thanks.
However, Debrett’s, the posh bible of social etiquette, has now produced a guide to giving and receiving presents that says texting our gratitude is just not polite.
They reckon only a written note will do, but today that’s hardly realistic.
It is surely better to thank people somehow than not at all and, unfortunately, hand-writing anything these days is going out of style.
