IT'S a fond farewell to the Bishop of Bolton this week as the Rt Rev David Gillett quits his top post.
He is leaving to look after his wife, Valerie, who was diagnosed with leukaemia some years ago.
He played a pivotal national role in building inter-faith links with the Muslim community, and he's never been afraid to speak out about important issues or if he felt a wrong had been done.
The bishop has been a welcome campaigner and a good friend to Bolton. We'll miss his kindly ministrations . . . and we'll miss him.
