MY daughter lives in Egerton and on Monday put out her 6ft-plus Christmas tree and all her papers and cardboard gathered over the festive season, carefully stored to keep dry in the much needed space of her small kitchen, only for them all to be left by the refuse men on the pavement in the torrential rain.
I was incensed to read in The Bolton News (January 8) that the powers-that-be had changed the rules, without informing the public, and will now only take 4ft or cut-down trees. Perhaps our council, which expects us to recycle, could kindly tell her what she is expected to do with all the soaking wet card and paper left outside her home.
