I have read numerous bad reports about the skate park in Bolton, but until today had no real opinion.
I thought it was a good idea for the youths but had read reports of vandalism and yobbish behaviour. However, today my husband and I walked past with our sons who are four and five and stood and watched for about an hour.
There were about 20 teenage boys on boards, bikes and blades and all were very talented and entertaining.
Several of the boys came over to talk to our sons and all of them were courteous and polite.
I saw no sign of the yobs I’d heard of, just lots of boys getting healthy exercise, having fun and providing entertainment.
It made me proud to live in Bolton and gave my sons perfect role models. Long live the skate park.
