MAY I add a footnote to the continuing correspondence regarding the new Market Place?
Last Wednesday, my son, who is a wheelchair user, and his carer, once again tried to gain access to the Market Place via the automatic doors, but to no avail. They were shut, yet again!
Eventually they gained entrance by the only other way, at the Bridge Street end of the building — a difficult operation for the carer who is required to hold a door open with one hand and to push a heavy wheelchair with the other.
They went to the Customer Services Desk to complain. The answer was brief and succinct, “There’s a breeze”.
Presumably, wheelchair users must wait patiently for the right kind of wind (or lack of it).
