REGARDING recent letters about fly tipping, my question would be has anyone recently been to Raikes Lane tip?

First, you have to get past the Gestapo in the entrance sentry box, then you are subjected to an interrogation-like experience.

Here is an example: On Thursday, April 23, I went to get rid of some rubbish from my house and my daughter’s house. I was stopped by no fewer than four employees, who each searched my rubbish.

When I actually got to the wall from where you throw your rubbish, another person appeared and said I could not throw an old metal tool box and it had to go in a separate skip for metal.

Unfortunately, my daughter did not hear the order and threw it over the wall.

Oh my goodness — what a grave sin. I was then approached by another person who threatened me by saying a camera will have photographed me and that I would be banned from using the tip, or fined.

Oh, well, it looks like Firwood Lane in the future then . . . much less hassle.
