KUDOS to all those eco-warriors out there trying to do their bit for the planet.
You may not associate vegetarianism with environmentalism, but studies prove there is a correlation. It should be a no-brainer that eating from the bottom of the food chain is more environmentally efficient than eating from the top.
Al Gore deserves respect for his documentary “An Inconvenient Truth”, but his meat-eating habits are inconsistent with his eco-philosophy. “Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook” he helped promote states: “Refusing to eat meat is the single most effective thing you can do to reduce your carbon footprint.”
The Environmental Defence Fund states that if every American had one meat-free meal per week, it would have the same environmental impact as taking more than five million cars off our roads.
