RECENTLY, politicians from the main parties have been saying that the Royal Mail should be privatised or part-privatised.
I find myself asking why. I would be grateful if any politician from any party could tell me?
If private mail companies are so great, why do so many of them use The Royal Mail to deliver their letters for them?
UK Mail, TNT Mail, Secure Mail DHL etc. all use the Royal Mail —could it be that the Royal Mail is cheaper and provides a better service than the private mail companies?
On the Andrew Marr programme, Adam Crozier stated that funds were needed from part-privatisation to fund a £10 billion black hole in the Royal Mail pension fund, due mainly to this Labour Government taking a 12-year holiday from its payments into the fund. Mr Crozier is not effected, he pocketed £200,000 of taxpayers’ money last year to do as he wishes regarding pensions..
This Government pays unelected quangos £170 billion a year.
Get rid of the old boys’ network that make up the quangos and there will be plenty of money available.
By the way, the MoD budget is £35 billion, a quarter of the unelected quangos.
