I and Bolton Green Party totally oppose Bolton Council’s plans to transfer 18,000 council houses to Bolton at Home.
Green Party policy is that affordable social housing is essential. Our housing stock should be kept in the public sector, as this provides greater protection and a fairer deal for tenants.
We support the trade unions in Bolton and the Defend Council Housing campaign in their fight against what we see as privatisation of housing. Is anything sacred from Labour’s mad obsession with privatisation?
Social housing should not be lost for future generations for short-term gain. Neither should current tenants be pressured into voting in favour of the council’s insane plan.
Keep our housing stock public.
