WHILE I welcome the fact that Arriva Buses is now operating services on the 501 route through Smithills Ward which I represent, I would have preferred it to re-instate a service running to Barrow Bridge.
Both First Bus and Arriva have operated and withdrawn a Barrow Bridge service and are now in competition with each other on the 501 route. Surely one or two of these buses an hour could be diverted to Barrow Bridge along the old 502 route.
