In response to Peter Sloan’s letter on Friday, May 28 I, as a member of Soroptimist International of Bolton and one of the organisers of Helping Bolton To Help Itself', want to say a big thank you to all the groups who attended, the mayor and mayoress, our three MPs and the hundreds of people who visited the marquee and watched the entertainment outside in the square. It was a wonderful day backed up by comments from groups and visitors alike.
Bolton is a wonderful town in which much voluntary work is done without publicity. Time is given freely benefitting both the giver and the recipient, as Peter highlights.
If you missed your chance to volunteer at this event, visit the Volunteer Centre at The Hub. You’ll be made very welcome. Keep up the good work Bolton.
