ALTHOUGH I still feel the proposals were a wacky idea, before the words of Bolton people are immortalised in Churchgate may I point out an error arising in the caption attributed to Fred Dibnah.
When his phrase was first proposed on May 23, it was "Did yer like that?"
In further reports and in the leader of August 2, the phrase was amended to "Did you like that?"
The original idea was to reflect the words of Bolton people. "Did yer like that?" was Fred. "Did you like that?" was not.
Perhaps it is not yet too late to make a correction.
