I WAS one of the many people who on Saturday experienced The Passion Play in Bolton.
I found the performance very moving, especially the Crucifixtion, and the large crowd were silent as the actors realistically acted out the final scenes.
Congratulations and well done to all concerned in planning and performing of The Passion — they must have been pleased with the end result.
To me it was worth the trip to town on a Saturday and standing for two-and-a-half hours. The true meaning of Easter was there for all to see.
On another note, in the Word on the Street interviews on Tuesday’s letters pages, what is wrong with people?
There were comments of “didn’t know about the royal wedding, not interested, would have gone away”.
Do people not realise this is history? If nothing else, it’s good news as all we hear is doom and gloom.
Let’s feel uplifted. Most people have been given the day off — they would not have had that if it hadn’t been for the wedding.
I say congratulations to the happy couple. I for one will enjoy the day watching the TV with my family!
