I DON’T believe it!

Firstly, the £25,000 being spent on car parking for our councillors so they can park on the Octagon car park when they are attending council events/meetings etc, so they can just saunter over to the Town Hall.

How very convenient for some!

Once again, I feel the word hypocrite coming to mind.

How outrageous. Yet again we have our town leaders telling us, the people who pay their wages and expenses, we should be using either public transport or use the outof- town NCP car parks.

These are the same people who closed the town surface level car parks in the hope it would funnel us into the former.

These are the same people who spent thousands trying to bring in a “yes”

vote that we pay congestion charges for going to Manchester to work and who knows where else if they had gotten their way. The definition of hypocrite in the Cambridge advanced learners’ dictionary is as follows, and it just happens to be a perfect definition for this subject: Someone who says they have particular moral beliefs but behaves in ways that are not sincere. Example, he’s a hypocrite — he’s always lecturing other people on the environment but he drives around in a great huge car. Need I say more?

Car parking for employees: £350,0000? Simple, they pay like anyone else does. The few people who work in town have to pay so why are they any different?
