I WONDER if anyone could help.
The Sunnyside Development Group has been working for several years on improving Sunnyside Community Centre — which stands within Sunnyside Park Moisant Street/Chelsea Road/Westcourt Road off HIgher Swan Lane/Lever Edge Lane, Bolton — by refurbishing it inside and out and ensuring it will always remain open to residents.
We have been researching the history of the pavilion and community centre from the Earl of Bradford to Tootals, Broadhurst and Lee, and we know that, in 1968, Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council leased off the park land from Tootals, with the exception of the pavilion and community centre, which was fenced off and run by Tootals.
On November 28, 1983, the title absolute/proprietor was one Mary Holden, of Walleach Farm, Edgworth. This is where the trail goes cold.
We would be very interested in tracing the current owners of Tootals Pavilion/Sunnyside Community Centre and would appreciate it if anyone with any further information could contact the Sunnyside Community Centre Development Group, via Bolton CVS at 01204-546010.
