SOME time ago I read of the improvements to St George’s Road which would help take away some of the traffic from Topp Way, as at the time St George’s Road was underused.
I walk along St George’s Road quite a lot and I can’t really say there has been a great difference. The road still seems devoid of traffic.
One thing I don’t really understand is why traffic coming up Bridge Street is prevented from turning left into St George’s Road unless it happens to be a bus or a taxi. All private vehicles trying to get to the north west of the town are still forced to go up further on up Higher Bridge Street and join Topp Way.
If the left turn is good enough for a taxi, why is it not good enough for me?
