RE Bolton’s proud record of contributions in the field of occupational safety and health. In the very month that saw the passing of Tom Openshaw, former safety officer for Bolton Council, how sad it was too read the comments of Cllr Martyn Cox in terms of workplace fatalities (March 29).
One is too many. Tom’s contributions, particularity in the field of fire and swimming pool safety were highly regarded.
Bolton should be rightly proud of the contributions its citizens have made in the field of occupational safety and health. Bolton University continues to be a leading light in the provision of academic health and safety education and training in the North West.
