I AM happy to hear Mr M Kozlowski supports equality, in his letter (“You must have missed my point,” March 20).

However, I can confirm to Mr Kozlowski that Labour leaflets are delivered to Christian households. I happen to be an English white Christian and every time an election is near my letter box sounds with the number of leaflets from all three well-known parties.

I refrain from using the term “major parties” as that can no longer be applied to the LibDems, who now appear to be on a path to extinction after betraying Liberal values in every way possible.

In response to his point about electioneering in a church, I would not think it appropriate to pester a church with politics, unless the church invites it. The church is a place for worship by man to God, where good should always prevail and where bigotry and hatred of others has no place — a place where all should be equal.

A mosque, like a church, is also a place of worship but goes further, like our religious places used to be, where communities come together to help others, not just in words but in deeds.

In regard to other issues, I strongly feel the Anglicans and Catholics should have no political role whatsoever — both have a lot to answer for in British history.

I am also against their right to seats in the house of Lords used by unelected, loud-mouthed bigoted Bishops. It also saddens me that the Anglicans remain oppressive, bigoted and out of touch. I feel the Queen is also being put in the difficult position of being the head of a church that is causing divisions in society.

Frankly, the two major churches are becoming a cover for those who promote the hatred of others.
