AS we approach the local elections tomorrow, these pages are becoming filled with letters from readers and councillors criticising the government, national party policies and each other. On April 20 criticising the Coalition, John Stott says: “Remember that on May 3.”
What voters need to remember is that they are not electing a government, but councillors who will work in the best interests of the town and its people irrespective of the party to which they belong.
This has nothing to do with the government and the council will have to work with the policies of whichever government is in power.
This Labour council failed to regenerate the town in the good times before the recession.
Remember that when you place your cross in the box tomorrow.
