SO, apparently, there's this new show called the Real Housewives of Cheshire.
It hasn't even started yet but there's been a trailer on the telly — and on it, one of the "stars" (and I use that term loosely) is telling us about the delights of Cheshire adding: "Because you don't choose to live in Bolton."
Charming! It is unclear why she has picked Bolton as an example of somewhere you wouldn't want to live.
But guess what — we wouldn't choose to live in Cheshire — and we don't want you in Bolton anyway.
Emma said: “I thought the comment was a bit rude, to be honest. You only have to drive down Chorley New Road to see that Bolton is a nice place.
“I would hate to live in Cheshire, unless I decided to wear a lot of botox. You walk round places in Cheshire and you feel like you have to have make up and high heels on to look the part.
“It’s a bit of a cliché, but Bolton is a real place — I love it here. I have lots of friends in Bolton and I’ve lived here for more than 10 years. I’ve always found it a culturally rich town.
“I haven’t seen the clip yet so I don’t know what context this woman has made her comment in, but it seems like a ploy to get people talking.”
