CONGRATULATIONS to Transport for Greater Manchester and sight loss charity Henshaws for their latest practical innovation.
The new “bus hailer” is a special flip chart which allows people with visual impairment to display what number of bus they are waiting to catch. It means that they don’t have to rely on other people to tell them and also shows the driver what bus they want.
Travelling on public transport generally is already very challenging for them so anything like this simple aid is a great way to offer easily-seen help for those in Bolton and elsewhere affected by sight problems.
