NOW I’m all for healthy eating and tackling obesity levels (well, I definitely am now I’m on a diet).
But new guidance from Public Health England on celebrating birthdays at work leaves a nasty taste in the mouth. They state that sharing birthday cakes at work adds to the national obesity crisis and should be avoided.
While sensible employers encourage healthy eating, this is just being a killjoy. I am absolutely certain that having the odd slice of celebratory cake will not send someone off screaming for a further sugar fix or make any meaningful dent in a good diet.
