LAST Friday I was in Knowsley Street when the accident happened between the pensioner and the bus.
We were on the scene before the emergency services and my wife, a trained first aider was asking for things to keep him warm as she held his hand and talked to him.
She asked if anyone had anything to put under his head.
A young man, I think a teenager, without hesitation took off his sweatshirt and handed it to my wife who placed it under his head.
Now bearing in mind it was raining, windy and very cold.
He was left with just a vest until the emergency services arrived. He then put his sweatshirt back on which by this time it was wet and dirty and had blood on it.
The next thing, this young chap was running from bus to bus helping to divert traffic. I think he should be commended for his actions and it would be nice if you could find him.
People are all too ready to call all the youth of today. Well done lad whoever you are.
