BOLTONIANS just about swallowed their pride when Bolton Market Hall was decimated, and kicked up enough fuss about a multi-coloured Newport Street to get the scheme stopped.
Now there’s a new quandary: The Battle of the Waterworks. As Bolton Council plans to scrap the popular fountains in Victoria Square to make way for a café and restaurant, many people will want to fight the scheme.
If you don’t like it, speak up – and soon. As Bolton’s recent history shows, if people don’t object and loudly to proposed plans, they can’t complain if they go through. See you on the frontline!
