Star Wars, thanks to the latest new cinematic blockbuster adventure The Force Awakens, will inspire children’s gift lists this year, apparently.
Spin-off toys like The Millennium Falcon (around £119), a three-in-one Lightsabre (£49.99) and Lego spaceship (£99.99) are all on the hit list.
Such is the power of films and TV that parents can’t win this one, and many will struggle to afford them.
Just go with your instincts instead and buy them cheaper, equally welcome presents. After an initial tantrum, they’ll settle down to enjoy the fun – as always.
