DID you enjoy the final of The Great British Bake Off last week?

If you did, you/’re probably still in awe of the finalists and winner Candice Brown and interested in what happens to her post GBBO.

The clever chef with the cupid’s bow lips was always destined to do well, win or lose, as she has both the looks and the talent to go far. The fact that this particular final was the last with the BBC before the very popular series goes to Channel 4 also made it an emotional moment for viewers.

The re-born version will be without cookery doyenne Mary Berry, and the enduringly entertaining double act of Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, who all refuse to defect from the Beeb.

While the new version will no doubt be popular to some greater or lesser extent, the real Bake Off winner is Mary Berry.

From her impeccable fashion sense to her obsession with soggy bottomed cakes, she is a culinary national treasure whatever she appears in.
