IF YOU are somebody, for whatever reason, who finds it difficult to get to a gym or exercise class then why not improvise?

Exercise at home, at the office or even while you’re waiting for a bus if you like!

There's always a way you can get your heart rate up, strengthen your muscles and burn off some extra calories without having to go anywhere or use any specialist kit.

If you are in your living room, think about what you have around you, a sofa, a chair, a table.

How could you use them to help to benefit your health?

You could squat, standing with your feet shoulder distance apart in a small space, you could lunge by taking a split stance.

You could use your sofa to perform press ups with your feet either on the floor and hands on sofa, or the other way around!

Tricep dips, planks, step-ups, these could all be done on the sofa, chair or a small table too in your living space.

Running on the spot, dancing, hopping, squat jumps – these can all be done in a very small space.

Think about what weighted objects you have close by and use these to add resistance to exercises, for example tins of food, water bottles, bags of rice etc.

Anything can be utilised in the battle to help make yourself fitter.

You could put yourself a small circuit together and take between 20 and 30 minutes of your day to burn off some extra calories and get your heart rate up.

Increasing your heart rate and exercising for at least 30 minutes each day will greatly benefit your health and weight management.

And with everything at hand in the home, you’ve no excuses not to exercise.

Why not give it a go today!
