BOLTON MP Yasmin Qureshi says, had she been able to vote, she would have voted against the air strikes against ISIS.

She agrees that the threat posed by ISIS must be addressed, but she doesn’t say how.

Can we sit and talk to cold-blooded murderers, who behead innocent people and then boast about it?

Likewise, do they want to listen to us after we have bombed their countries, killing many thousands of innocent men, women and children, just because we didn’t like their leaders?

I believe IS exists primarily because of our involvement in Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya.

The US and the UK should have openly apologised for the illegal war they waged in Iraq. Bush and Blair should have been punished for their war crimes.

Had this happened things could well have been much different now.

But rubbing salt into the open wounds by making Blair a Middle East peace envoy was provoking trouble.

This peace envoy took this country into five wars during his term as PM, following the example set by his mentor, Thatcher, in the Falklands.

It seems ironic that another right wing PM teetering on the edge of an election defeat, takes us into yet another war.
