REGARDING the piece in Bolton News 'Anger as Cheshire housewife slates Bolton on advert for new ITV show' November 18.
For some time now there has been a belief held by people in Cheshire that they are somehow above other Northerners, and this Cheshire housewife's remark about not choosing to live in Bolton is testament to that.
But the reality of the situation is that Bolton isn't full of greedy millionaire tax dodgers as Cheshire is well known for, and Boltonians don't have to buy glossy publications like Country-life magazines to inform their taste whenever they go out and buy a piece of furniture.
As a Salfordian who has settled in Bolton, I would much rather the down to earth candor of Bolton folk, than the gold plated bathtaps and the chintz of Cheshire any day of the week.
