BLACK Friday provided a snapshot of a modern media-led Britain in full flow.
A pointless media-fed crazy event with folks getting up at crazy hours to queue then fight for the autumn scraps which the supermarkets and stores had been unable to sell.
The Chief Constable criticised the shops for not learning from last year but it is not the shop workers who engaged in greed-filled riotous behaviour.
America does it for cultural reasons. We do it because we follow the media. It's the same attitude which made the tabloids produce celeb-fed drivel and lies...because they knew a portion of the population would snaffle it up. Thankfully, I have read Bolton News reports on events through the Hospice and Mencap to help wipe away the Black Friday craziness.
