THERE are treacherous forces at work in the world of education in Bolton.
Teachers are selling out their colleagues across the town by accepting outrageous demands from management to undertake work beyond their expertise at rates of pay below the nationally agreed rates.
Of course this can only happen in a climate of fear and intimidation which the present government has encouraged with its proposed Trade Union Bill and forced Academisation of all schools.
Any teacher or other education worker who feels they have been press-ganged by a bullying anti-trade union management into working conditions they are unhappy with should contact their relevant trade union immediately.
Bolton TUC will assist all unions in whatever way possible to maintain and improve working conditions; it will certainly not stand idly by and watch the work of generations of trade unionists destroyed.
Only by united action can rogue employers be kept in check — for we are many and they are few.
