IN reply to the story about the NHS, April 19.

My experience of the ambulance service has not been very good. I recently called them and had to wait more than an hour before they turned up. My problem was deemed to be not 'priority.'

I also witnessed a road accident where a woman was knocked down and had to wait in the middle of the road for an hour and a half with a mobile medic in attendance before they arrived. I do not blame the ambulance workers themselves. The fault lies with the managers in the NHS and ultimately the government itself. They should provide more ambulances and paramedics to cope with the ever increasing demand. After all, it is we the taxpayers of Bolton who are paying for it all.
