I CALL on Bolton Council to spend money in Kearsley to repair roads, some of which are vital routes used by many commuters.
One in need of urgent repair is Stoneclough Road which provides the main arterial route serving Kearsley, Ringley, and Prestolee.
Having lived in Kearsley all my life, I feel the council has neglected our area and failed to spend the money necessary to maintain our roads. Despite there being an annual Highways Budget of around £19,000 allocated to each ward, there is little evidence of it being spent in Kearsley. Instead of repairs, the latest thing has been that repainted lines and other road markings have been continued into and then out of the potholes. The correct way forward is, of course, to repair the roads properly.
Some of the potholes on busy Stoneclough Road have been there for at least a year, and have got worse making them dangerous, especially motorcyclists and cyclists. There is also the damage caused to vehicles' suspensions.
