I WAS very sorry to read in the Bolton News that Farnworth Market which is 145 years old is closed
I was one of the last councillors representing a Farnworth ward on Farnworth council and it saddens me to see what Bolton council has done or should I say not done too Farnworth.
All we have got from Bolton is take take and take. We were told that when we went into Bolton and got paid councillors we would get a better type of councillor. We've been given nothing, like this government, all sound bites.
They have knocked down every decent building in the town, filled it with charity and betting shops. The town is filthy. You can tell when you are leaving Farnworth, the streets are clean.
As for the old Farnworth councillors, if you broke them in half they would have Farnworth printed all the way through them. One councillor springs to mind is Bill Hardman he spent most of his short life working for Farnworth and didn't get a penny for it. Even the Conservatives were better. So will the last business man or woman to leave Farnworth please turn the lights off.
Why has the planning department allowed the fencing off of the pathway at the side of Harper Green school? It has been open to the public for at least 30years which makes this a right of way. I know someone will say this councillor and that councillor did this for me but being a councillor is about working for the town as well.
