THOSE people who are proposing to vote to Remain in the EU should take into account the history of Europe where countries which have previously joined together, voluntarily or by force, have subsequently always separated. They have sought their independence as a result of a rise of nationalism and different religious and ethnic backgrounds.

Early examples were the Roman Empire and the Austro-Hungarian Empire. More recently, the former East European Communist Countries have broken up for the same reasons. Czechoslovakia split up into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Yugoslavia split up into Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Macedonia. Logically the island of Ireland should be one country but that will never happen.

After the war there has been a battle between Germany and France as to who would be top dog in Europe and Germany is winning so far. David Cameron failed to obtain any significant reforms from Angela Merkel but now she wants us to remain no doubt to secure Germany's position in the EU which proves that they need us more than we need them.

It will become increasingly impossible to get 28 countries to agree about anything. As far as immigration is concerned, under EU law, migrants are supposed to apply for asylum when they reach the first safe country so why are the French allowing them to travel for miles across the large area of France and are even building camps for them at Calais if not to pass the problem on to us.

The Euro is already in difficulties and we are having to pay to prop up the economies of Greece, Italy and Spain.

We are the fifth largest economy in the world and did very well before the EU so even if there is a temporary drop in our economy, we are capable of recovering.

Consequently, if you value our sovereignty and independence and do not want to be part of a political United States of Europe, vote LEAVE on June 23.
