AT 91, the longer I live the more politicians and their leaders make me laugh, and at times, disgusted.
At the next General Election (it may not be far off) I hope and pray the electorate will show the same amount of interest as at the recent Referendum, and the same amount of common sense.
Our local councillors especially should take note. They usually become elected by a ridiculous turn out due to the apathy expressed by us, who feel that they, once in the council chamber forget who put them there.
A good idea would be for them to listen a bit more to us and forget party dogma which in my book is a killer.
Party leaders become obsessed, the Blair with power, Gordon Brown with child poverty, David Cameron with economy, he used the word 37 times in a 45 minute debate recently.
I hope Cllr Whitehead doesn't become too obsessed with his dislike of Ukip. My response to his recent diatribe is in the words of Billy Gladstone: 'wait and see.'
