I AM shocked by the closing of 13 out of 18 children's centres, by the Labour Council.

These are a much valued and needed facility for vulnerable families. This is to save £ 1.5m but the council has £204m in reserves, and it should use some of this money to save the centres.

We know this has been inflicted on Bolton Council, by Conservative Government cuts, and Deputy Labour leader of the council Cllr Linda Thomas, is quite correct in saying the Government "knows the cost of everything, but the value of nothing. "

But I am afraid the same can be levelled at our Labour run council, when over the years it has rubber stamped damaging cuts to vital services, and jobs, never to return.

But as far as the Tories and Lib Dems on Bolton Council this indeed is rich, when in coalition they colluded to hand down the most draconian, and savage cuts in modern times, which has devastated jobs and local service.

If Jeremy Corbyn is anti-austerity as he says he is, let us see this at local level, so come on Bolton Labour councillors reverse the children's centre closures, and dip into the reserves.

It is high time you protected and represented the people who put you there, if not you should step down.
