I feel compelled to respond to Ms Joan Pritchard-Jones (Letters April 13 re school meals).
One swallow doesn't make a spring nor does one single policy give a Labour Party, under the leadership of Corbyn, the remotest chance of forming a UK government.
This lady has to realise that without sound economic policies and an effective defence policy nothing else is relevant. The present policies being pursued by Theresa May and her ministers is the way froward for the foreseeable future. This lady probably looks at the employment figures (more people in work, fewer people unemployed) and thinks .....oh no more bad news for Labour.
This government is bringing back Grammar Schools giving children the opportunity of a superb education regardless of their family's financial circumstances. More great news for the public. The good news just goes on and on whereas Corbyn reigns over an increasingly insignificant party with little or no chance of ever forming another government.
The forth coming elections will see Labour lose seat after seat in local government and in all probability not have as many elected Mayors as they could have reasonably expected with an effective leader/policies.
So whilst you may like this single policy of Corbyn, Ms Pritchard-Jones you will have to appreciate that the electorate will simply not be taken in when there are many other pressing matters that require effective and clear leadership ....and that the country has under the Conservatives at the present.
