I HAVE been shocked and sickened by the revolting event in Manchester. A lifetime of agony, sadness and despair for the families and friends of these young victims. Wiped out as they shared joyful times.

The only positive came from the immediate reaction from locals, taxi drivers, hotels and others straight in to help and comfort.

As I gather my thoughts it seems too early to grasp who or why this was done. No doubt accusations and blame will flash along the media. Time will, I hope, reveal the truth.

I hope this nightmare doesn't give power to extremists, casting blame on their favourite targets.

I did hear someone on TV made a valid point that there are vile movements which make use of vulnerable people, who lack society, companionship and self-esteem.

Such vulnerable folk are groomed into believing that this is why they are on Earth.

This is how they can attain friendship and fame. They can make a special mark amongst their fellow humans.

This must have gone on throughout history, spreading through the Middle Ages, through to the twentieth and twenty first centuries.

Such sickening events go beyond security, although, apparently security has prevented other such episodes.

It goes beyond borders. This is a worldwide human problem. The moves to recognise, flush out and solve potential atrocities need international efforts and answers.

Those who recognise the potential then groom, need to be recognised and erased. Whatever nationality, religion or no religion, the world needs to spot the potential way before a vile event takes place.
