IT must be blatantly obvious to any fair-minded person that the EU and not the UK is responsible for any deadlock in the negotiations.

The UK has made perfectly good proposals regarding EU nationalist living in the UK, also the position of the UK regarding Ireland's borders.

To date, I have seen no response from the EU regarding these proposals, except the usual response from the EU.

Okay, it is time the EU put its proposals on the table.

As for the ludicrous so-called divorce payment, let's see some figures.

Michel Barnet seems to have his hands tied by a mandate set by EU leaders who seem to think that they can ride roughshod over the democratic vote by the British people they may have got away with these tactics in Ireland but not here.

Any sum paid by us — and I personally do not think we should pay anything — should be agreed by the people of the UK.
