SO this week saw the Bolton Wanderers website celebrate the return of the Bolton Belles dance squad.

In an age where girls are outperforming boys in education, we have a female Prime Minister and First Minister of Scotland, and the England women's rugby, cricket and football teams' achievements exceed those of the men — despite the difference in privilege and investment — back at Bolton Wanderers the place of women remains as a half-time dance act for the men's game.

Wasn't it having scantily clad young girls dancing for the 'entertainment' of predominantly older men that got the BBC into such trouble? Really Bolton Wanderers — isn't it time you dragged yourselves into the 21st century?
