BOLTON showman, Henry Hill, has unveiled ambitious plans to buy a 65 metre high £2m ferris wheel.
The fairground organiser is currently searching the North-west for a suitable location for the attraction.
And one of the spots at the top of his list is Victoria Square in Bolton.
Another option being considered is Salford Quays with its panaromic views over major landmarks like The Lowry and Manchester United's Old Trafford ground.
He hopes it will rival the huge ferris wheel in Manchester city centre which is 60 metres tall.
Mr Hill, who puts on the Cheadle Square fair and operates the Victoria Square carousel, said: "My company North West Funfairs will be getting a ferris wheel and we are currently in negotiations with a number of organisations regarding where it could be sited, but things are at a very early stage.
"Salford is one option but we are talking to other people - it will definitely be in the North West - the town hall square at Bolton would be good too.
"Manchester's has been a success and the one in London. Another opened recently in Nottingham and we believe the time is right for another in the region."
