Police have released this e-fit image of this suspect following the attempted kidnap of an 11-year-old girl in Salford.

Police received reports at about 8am on February 8 that a man driving a dark-coloured 4 x 4 style vehicle had pulled up alongside the victim as she was walking along Eccles Old Road.

The man got out of the vehicle, grabbed the victim by her wrist and told her to get into the car.

The girl managed to struggle free and ran into school as the man drove off along Eccles Old Road towards Manchester.

The offender is described as a black male, wearing dark clothing.

Detective Inspector Mark Radford of Swinton CID said: "The victim has understandably been shaken by her terrifying ordeal, but has been able to give us a detailed description of the offender to assist detectives in constructing an e-fit.

"It is vital we work with the community to catch whoever is responsible and I would appeal to anyone who knows who he is, or who was in the area at the time of the incident and has not yet spoken to police, to come forward.

"This man needs to be caught as soon as possible and we are hoping that the e-fit, combined with the vehicle description will help us with our inquiries."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Salford CID on 0161 856 5351 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
