VANDALS caused more than £3,000 worth of damage to Bolton bus shelters during the last year.
Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority was told 362 incidents were reported across the region during the 2007/8 financial year.
The cost of repairs totalled £68,922, including £3,284 spent in Bolton.
However, the borough fared better than Wigan, where transport bosses had to pay out more than £13,200 on repairs, and Oldham, where the repair bill was £12,700.
The report said CCTV installed in anti-social behaviour hot spots to combat the problem had resulted in 55 reports of incidents, resulting in 14 arrests.
Eight miniature cameras are in place at shelters across Bolton, which can be moved to other sites as required.
