Today’s photograph was taken in 1974 but where is it? Last week’s answer was Heywood Park, Bolton. We had lots of readers sending in their answers but only one was correct, Harry Birchall. Heywood Park was named after Robert Heywood who was the second Mayor of Bolton from 1839-40. In 1854 he purchased the Bowyer Bible, now on display in Bolton Museum, for £550 from the estate of John Albinson.
He made the gift of a free recreation ground at Lever Street, Bolton on 23 October 1862, which was named Heywood Park, popularly known as "Bobby Heywood's Park".
