DON’T be fooled by this diminutive dog – Gizmo is a real fighter and has bags of bravery.

The nine-month-old pug recently fought through a severe eye infection that nearly blinded him.

Owner, Gemma Battersby, explained: “He is very courageous. He had a poorly eye last year and had to undergo extensive treatment to make it better, or else he could have lost his eye.

“Luckily Gizmo is a fighter and pulled through with his eye still intact and it never dampened his spirit during treatment.”

Gemma, 27, bought Gizmo from a breed in Skelmersdale in August 2015 when he was 11-weeks-old.

“I got gizmo because I have always loved pugs and I have wanted to own one for a long time,” added the Doffcocker resident.

“My partner surprised me and bought him as he knew how much I loved him.

“I'm a big animal lover anyway and love all dogs, but I have always had a soft spot for pugs.

“My dreams came true when he came to his forever home with me and he has been a big part of the family ever since.

“He’s a real mummy's boy and enjoys lots of cuddles when he is tired. When he is awake he has so much energy and will play for hours, even with the cats.

“He is much loved by family and friends and brings a lot of joy to us all.”
